Pressure transmitters and level sensors share a measuring principle and differ in how they are applied. Hydrostatic level measurement is simply pressure measurement with the density of the liquid factored in, which makes it simple, dependable and reliant on that density staying constant.

Diaphragm material decides compatibility, and the process connection decides whether the installation is hygienic or industrial. On viscous or crystallising media a flush diaphragm avoids the dead leg that a standard connection creates.
