A continuous-flex cable is built differently from installation cable: short lay lengths, a specific stranding, and a jacket chosen to survive millions of bending cycles rather than to sit still in a tray. Fitting ordinary cable into an energy chain is the most common cause of chain-related failure.

Cables are rated by bend radius and cycle count, and those two figures are what should be matched against the application rather than conductor count alone. A cable that meets the electrical spec and not the mechanical one will work perfectly until it does not.

We source igus chainflex control, servo, bus and data cables. Send the required bend radius, travel and cycle expectation along with the electrical specification.
