Gear units are rebuilt rather than scrapped. What comes out on an overhaul is the bearings, the shaft seals and the oil, and occasionally a gear set if the unit has been run low on lubricant or overloaded.

Shaft seal failure is the usual first symptom, and it is worth acting on: once the unit starts losing oil, bearing and gear damage follows on a timescale measured in weeks rather than months.

Send the type designation and serial number from the nameplate, and tell us whether you need a seal kit, bearing set or complete gear set.
