In 2021, Protech International launched its subsidiary Protech Healthcare and became an official distributor for IV Glove.

What is IV Glove?

IVGLOVE_WEBSITE_SELECTS_ALPHA_REF02.pngRegistered by the FDA, IV Glove is an anti-bacterial, anti-microbial silicone glove that attaches to a patient’s hand to secure IVs.

The IV Glove features a transparent protective shield allowing medical personnel to inspect IVs without disruption, and IV Glove’s patented S-clip mechanism secures the IV tubes preventing movement.

IV Glove is ideal for both pediatrics and senior care, and it allows medical practices to reduce costs by preventing multiple attempts to properly insert catheters.

Why IV Glove?

So, why does it matter?

Dislodgment is one of the most prevalent issues with existing IV practices and can be caused by a patient’s movement, accidental impact, or linear strain. This can then lead to additional health complications such as infiltration and phlebitis.

The IV Glove addresses these stabilization issues by safely and comfortably securing the peripheral IV catheter (PIVC) and its tubing to the patient’s arm.

Not to mention, in 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicated peripheral IVs can remain in place for 96 hours or more providing they are functioning properly and the patient is not showing signs of infection.

However, patients rarely are able to keep an IV in place that long as the IV failure rate is between 35-50 percent. IV Glove’s patented technology solves this problem.
